Lacrosse played a huge role in Mark's life, especially as a coach - coaching his own children and hundreds more in the community. Growing up in Syracuse, New York, he grew up playing the game and in 2004 began coaching in the Atlanta area. Mark continued to coach lacrosse until he passed away from a battle with Melanoma in 2019.
In those 15 years Mark coached East Cobb Lacrosse, Greyders, Walton Jr. Raiders, Walton High School off-seasons and most recently Mt. Bethel U11. Coach Kaish, as he is best known, passed his love of lacrosse on to so many including his son, Ned, who started LaxRats in 2016 as a way to continue to grow the game in Georgia.
Coach Kaish was a catalyst to a 2011 Walton State Championship Team, as most of the team had been coached by him from their middle school years through high school falls. Donations will go toward tournaments or events that LaxRats will put on in Memory of Coach Mark Kaish with all proceeds going toward Melanoma Research.
